Gremlins almosty gone……

003jpgWell l can now load pics onto my blog now so here is the front of the shop.  Now this pic was taken exactly a month ago during my opening week. So it looks a bit different again now……..

005jpgOkay this is one of the side views,

011jpgand this is a pic of one of my new counters…..but another month and this will change, my replacement cutting counters will be in l hope.

So now that l am back on track with pics l will post a lot more.

Fabric…

A lot of new fabric has arrived: A little Black Dress -2 , Riley Blake Summer Breez, French Market, M for Mystery, and some more Tone on tones. But unfortunately l cannot show you them on this blog as it still has problems.

So go to Instagram and follow me there because that system works at the moment…..

Another exciting thing that l have just done….put in my wool order   …woo hoo… will start arriving in April.

The new shop is going great and having the extra room is just bliss but what has been better is the airconditioning……what hot days?????

Hopefully you will start getting pictures again soon….

Sewing machine and overlockers repairs

Did you know that the shop can take repairs for all sewing machines and overlockers, Sam has returned from holidays and is back on deck repairing machines

You can drop the machine in one week and have it back the following week (depending on repair).

Repairs are done in Taylors Lakes and are collected from the shop by Sam……..

The great Christmas move………..

Yep l did it….l finally took the plunge and moved from little old shop after 5 years and relocated to a bigger newer shop in a great location with plenty of exposure and parking…..

It was a bit sad leaving my old shop l had had a great time there and its where l really built up the business, but l had done as much as l could there with the limited space so a move was imminent.

A spanner in the works while this was all happening over Christmas was that l had some major issues with my website, the gremlins decided to come for Christmas dinner but they didnt leave, so the site is still a bit wonky (no pictures) but the problem is being attended to. (thanks Jenn)

I have managed to load some classes on to the site but please be a bit patient as l am trying my best………

Oh sorry my new address is: SHOP 4, NEXUS CENTRE, 14 PRINCE ST, GISBORNE.

So coming in from Melbourne,  its the second street on the right after going  straight through the roundabout.  For locals , the shop is directly behind the Chemist Warehouse.

There is plenty of parking either at the back of the supermarket complex or directly in the Nexus Centre or off street you will be pleasantly surprised >>>>

Oh yes l am thrashing the term “the Paris end of Gisborne” as the shop is on the high side of Gisborne.   I think it will catch on !!!!!!!

There is also a terrific Florist shop a couple of doors up from me, and at the moment if you take your receipt from my shop you will get 10% off goods in the shop (it has to be on the same day as the recepit is issued)./

Anyway there is still a bit of organising to do and a lot more stock to arrive, and yes the rumours are correct l am getting wool……………

So thanks for the endless support  its great…..so now for the next era……

Cheers Mary

Still here……

Blogging is falling away again , cos’ l am busy like everyone, so l thought that l needed to get my thankyous in early as there may not be a post between now and when the shop breaks for Christmas.

Most of the shop classes have now finished, and thankyou to all of my teachers that have imparted their knowledge.

The start of the new class lists for 2014 will be progresively popped on the website over the next month or  as l get confirmation from tutors.

A big thankyou to my wonderful girls Carmel and Janine that work in the shop, my job would be made a whole lot harder without them.

And hating to be” corny” but without my customers the shop would be a bit lonely.  So thankyou for the endless support.

2014 will bring a few changes, more stock generally……..l’ll let you know about that later.

Subject to change:  Shop Hours:   Shop Closed 12.30 pm Tuesday 24 December  and reopen Monday 6 January 2014.

I am on Instagram now so follow me on that, l manage to be better at that…………

Cheers Mary

One month till Christmas aaaaaaahhhhh

Big family Birthday bash is over,  a quiet 140 people…………..

So l can start to be normal again well ok my type of normal…….and l can get back to the sewing room.

There are always things you learn ……notice to one self…dont leave it so long to get the cobwebs down, clean the oven more regularly, lock the messy sewing room door so no-one can enter except me.

While the madness was on,  some new bits arrived at the shop.

001jpgMidwinter Reds…….

002jpgLittle Azalea by Dena

003jpgDont forget the Christmas fabrics that are still available……..and the advent calenders……and the stockings……….

Cheers Mary

PS: Dont forget to follow me on Pinterest and Instagram……….

I’ll use the sale as an excuse……

Gee l didnt have any idea it had been so long that l posted, until l went to my page today and l am going to use my Birthday sale and Christmas preparations as excuses.

Thankyou to the hundreds that flocked to the shop (yes hundreds)  for my Birthday sale…..it was a huge success…and very very busy.  But as l always say “All Good”

Christmas is nearly upon us and l have just put out the Christmas fabric onto the shop floor along with some samples, not to mention the Star quilt in the shop window.

004jpgThe fabric range used is French General Esprt De Noel, typical of French General fabric design, rich reds and floral patterns well worth the look.  And now  available at the shop.

Lots of new stock has arrived, so l am using the shoe horn to fit it in.  So l will get some photos to you by the end of the week of whats new……..
