I am very lucky to be able to stock the Liberty Art Series fabric.
It has been hugely successful and the colours are amazing.
Jan Kerton also dropped in her new Blanket called Owls……..looks great as usual…..
and have l told you about the Imps it was fun making them a pattern by MayBlossom.

At last the very very nice 1930s collection of fabric called Story Book Classics is on the shelf, this is one of the better 1930s collections and l have had great fun getting it all out of the boxes.
The trouble l had was fitting it all in…..
and the all encompassing Irene Blanck called in and dropped off her Gardenhurst quilt another fine example of needleturn applique. Just waiting for the patterns to arrive.

A lovely collection of fabric called has been put out onto the shelves, PB&J very different but strong colours here is a sample.
Do you measure success on what you finish or what you start or how it is admired or whether you receive enormous satisfaction from getting something done or do you just plain and simple like it and thats all that matters… it is a very interesting talking point, with a varied point of view. Lets face it it is a personal point of view…..
But when Jan Kerton comes for her classes, success is measured not by what is finished but by the fun that every class member has and the wonder of how long does one have to live to be able to do it all. Adele managed to get her hippos finished, and the result is fantastic .
Just a little bit different using Red Wool/cashmere (in stock at the shop).
I rest my case…………….
Jan has a couple more new designs which should be ready shortly Owls and Tigers. I will let you know when they are in.

Terrific Easter was had by all the the PnQ household, lots of visitors, food, chocolate, (maybe a little alcohol) a football drought over(Go Cats), some odd jobs done , sewing done, a sleep in, roaming around in pjs for a while.
So l thought l had better show you what lve been up to…..l have spent some 2 hours trawling through sites on the computer l so hate that when l get hooked…..
Dance of the Heart by Rosalie Quinlan got finished,
Another childs play mat got finished l think l am in love with these….they are just so simple find a panel if its not big enough for what you want add a border to the top and bottom place some batting behind that and quilt with cotton perle(its quick by using a thicker thread) then using spray baste put a piece of laminated fabric on the back and then trim to size and then bind it using the pre-made binding that l have in the shop and thats it….great present……
Sitting around for some time l have had these iron on transfers from the Aunt Marthas range and l was always a bit stuck as to what to do, so l needed a new tablecloth.
So l cut out the tranfers from the packet and then ironed them onto a feed sack that l had(its huge) and then started to embroider the picture.
and the first one is done..l used x 6 strands of DMC in really bright colours. The only negative to the process is that the lines can be a bit thick if you keep the iron on too long. You would think l would know that by now………
So when l get further down the track l will show you…….

Here is a sneak peak at Michelle Hills new Block of the Month Dear William. What to say about this one … its look great, and Janine has done an absolutely brilliant job at making the quilt as its right up her alley with machine applique.
The Block of the Month will be available soon , but if you think that you would like to join this BOM then it would be an idea to leave your name at the shop as there are limited numbers of the program. Maybe consider joining one of Janine’s machine applique classes in Term 2 to work on this quilt. More details once we are ready to go…..
Another great thing that has happened at the shop, is that l am now stocking Gumnuts yarns. Flavours are ” Stars ” which is stranded Silk,” Daisies” which is fine Wool and” Poppies” which is a blend of Silk and Wool. The threads are all hand dyed in Aust which is fab but that is only a minor detail as the threads are beautiful.
And look Jodie has sent me another sample of one of her patterns “the Classic Messenger” using fabrics from the shop, the pattern will be in the shop after Easter…..
Okay its nearly chocolate feast time, so have a terrifc Easter with some nice days off.
The shop will be closed for the normal public holidays but fear not l WILL be OPEN on Saturday 30 March.

I have had a lovely play today at home, socializing , gardening, and of course the essential sewing, such a beautiful day and l managed to achieve a vitamin D intake, with out becoming crisp……..
So l have been working on Rosalie Quinlan Block of the Month Dance of the Heart, in redwork (she also has it in coloured thread) so once again using my scrap the wall hanging is nearly finished, l am a bit of a fan of redwork, so l have shown you a sample. The patterns comes with pre-printed linen and the thread and of course directions of how to put it together…….The patterns will be in the shop next week.
Another item that l finished was a new Make it Perfect Pattern Called Mini Poppy, it is the sweetest little dress, once again the pattern is simple and logical, l used cotton for the dress but you can also use a heavier fabric, patterns are on sale at my shop..
There are lots of deliveries at the moment so the shop is full, one of the collections that came in is of printed Linen Blend, as you can see in the picture the fabric is quite smart and it has a wider width. This is the fabric that Irene B was waiting for back in January……….she assures me that she has a new quilt design that this fabric can be used in …….well guess who is waiting now………
As l mentioned the shop is full of fabric so l have had to have a tidy up so my sale baskets are overflowing so at $8.00 per metre (minimum cut 1metre) you cannot go wrong and its worth having a look at.

At least the weather can provide heaps of conversation and by now we are all stir crazy….

Not feeling chatty though at the moment, just over the heat and yes the tradies are still here, the roof is finished and l have told Mr PnQ to stop running around in his undies out the front(ooooooo), the possum well not sure whats happened there, he may have left the building……….

I had the urge to make a few Easter Bunnies from a Creative Card pattern by Rosalie Quinlan, and it got a bit out of hand…………and l was lucky enough to be able to use a new collection by Aneela Hoey Posy, just purely coincidentally the collection has bunnies and chickens…perfect timing is what l call it……..
also Field Notes by Blackbird designs turned up and a collection of Retro Sewing fabrics……..
This quick quilt that l finished , shows you just how effective fabric can look in a simple pattern. The Jelly roll is called” Simply Colour” and the charm squares are called” Noteworthy” and the border white with a grey dot.
And in what seemed like a marathon Toytime Circus is finished and the Block of the Month Program will be available soon.
So…the roof is nearly finished, the technical difficulty with the camera rectified (l hope), the fridge being fixed tomorrow, the heap of old tin in the driveway will be gone tomorrow, all cakes appreciated by the trades and l will be back at the shop for a rest…….

I managed to have a rare late afternoon off on Monday and headed into Melbourne to have some “qt” with Mr PnQ and go to a concert that l have waited for a long time to go to.
Carole King at the Plenery. My calf muscles ached (from foot tapping) my hands hurt (from clapping),my voice croaky (from singing) and l couldnt wipe the grin from my face, it was one of the bestest concerts l have ever been to.
She is amazing 71 years young, her song writing has expanded over 6 decades and her album(CD) Tapestry is still a top seller. Talk about inspirational…….
So today l have lots of energy its amazing when you do something different it gives you a boost.
This little cot quilt is called Vintage Pink Lamb, a quick and easy quilt using a lovely vintage lamb print . Kits are available in the shop.
